Anoka-Ramsey Community College softball players Krystal Plouff, sophomore outfielder from Forest Lake High School, along with Melissa Palm, freshman pitcher from St. Cloud Cathedral High School in St. Joseph, Minn. and were named the MCAC Southern Division Players of the Week for their play against Vermilion, Rainy River and Bottineau. The team won all three games for the week.
Plouff is currently on the nation’s leaders in hitting and home runs at the Division III level. Krystal hit two home runs against Vermilion and two against Bottineau. For the week she batted .545 with 7 RBI’S and 4 stolen bases.
Palm had a hand in all three Golden Rams wins last week. She pitched a no-hit, shut-out against Vermilion and picked up saves against Rainy River and Bottineau. Palm also posted a .95 ERA with five strike-outs.
“Krystal and Melissa are both doing a great job so far this year, “says Anoka-Ramsey Head Coach Dave Alto. “ They work extremely hard and they are both starting to see the rewards for all of their hard work.”
