Anoka-Ramsey Community College softball player Melissa Palm, freshman pitcher, St. Cloud Cathedral High School, St. Joseph, Minn., was named the MCAC Southern Division Pitcher of the Week for her outstanding play during the week of April 17-24. This is the 2nd time this season that Palm has been honored with this award. The team won five games for the week and is currently 13-5 in Conference play.
Palm had a 2-1 pitching record for the week. She pitched 20 innings and gave up only three runs (all unearned) in her two wins. She struck out 11 and walked only three.
“Melissa has developed into a very good pitcher. Each time she takes the mound she gets better and better,” says Anoka-Ramsey Head Coach Dave Alto. “ When Melissa is pitching, I feel that there isn’t anyone who we can’t beat.”
The Golden Rams just recently qualified for the MCAC State Tournament in Cloquet, Minn., May 6 and 7.
