For the second time, Stephanie Pilgrim, a sophomore from Osseo High School, has been named MCAC Southern Division Player of the Week for the week ending Feb. 22. In two games last week, Pilgrim averaged 24.5 points and 4.5 rebounds, 4.5 steals while shooting 15 for 32 (47%) from behind the arc.
Anoka-Ramsey, 24-1 on the season and ranked #1 in the country, won both games, beating Central Lakes, 80-63, and Minnesota State Fergus Falls, 97-50.
Pilgrim is the daughter of Jim and Marsha Pilgrim, of Maple Grove Minn.
This is the 5th time in seven weeks that an Anoka-Ramsey player has been named Player of the Week. Last week, Marie Hanson earned the honor. Previously Tamarra Shorter and Mallory Cramer were recognized. Cramer also garnered National Player of the Week honors as well.
Anoka-Ramsey Community College is a Division III Junior College located in Coon Rapids, MN and competes in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference. They have won 6 National Championships, the most recent in 2007 and been to the National tournament 10 times. In 2010, the Golden Rams finished 3rd at the National Tournament.
