Anoka-Ramsey Community College Music Faculty member, Richard Joseph will appear in the chorus of the Minnesota Opera’s 25th Anniversary production of Dominick Argento’s “Casanova’s Homecoming,” Nov. 14 - 22.
"I consider it a privilege to be able to sing with the Minnesota Opera,” says Joseph. “This opportunity gives me the chance to use and improve my skills while working with other high-quality musicians. It also gives me in field experience that I can use to better prepare my students for their musical careers."
The warm-hearted comedy “Casanova’s Homecoming” was created by Minnesota’s own Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Dominick Argento in 1985 to open the Ordway Music Theatre. It is based on the real-life memoirs of Giacomo Girolamo Casanova de Seingalt. Old rivals trick Casanova into seducing a castrato, who he discovers is actually a woman in disguise. Together they hatch their own hilarious scheme to save his reputation and protect her identity.
The opera is performed in English with English subtitles.
