The Anoka-Ramsey Community College’s Cambridge Campus Foundation recently elected three new members to their board of directors: Gregory L. Carlson, John R. Carlson, Jack Juve and DeeDee Kahring.
Gregory L. Carlson, a Cambridge resident, is Executive Director - Partnerships & Affiliations at Presbyterian Homes & Services. Carlson holds an associate in arts from Normandale Community College and attended the University of Minnesota for Continued Studies in Healthcare Administration. He is married to Greta, and the couple has three children: Jenni (28), Brian (26), Lisa (24) and Emily (18). Carlson has extensive experience with Aging Services of Minnesota including roles on the executive committee, District D chair, board, director-at-large, secretary/treasurer, chair-elect, and chair. He has served as Kiwanis Club (Benson, Minn.) president; Cambridge Area Chamber of Commerce president; Cambridge City Planning Commission chair; Cambridge City Council member-elect; Housing and Redevelopment Authority chair; and as Rotary Club Cambridge charter member.
“Building stronger and healthier communities is achieved by helping others to succeed, the college foundation is key to this objective,” says Carlson. “We can build a better future by increasing the capacity of the foundation to help more students reach their educational goals.”
John R. Carlson, a Stanchfield resident, is a self-employed auctioneer/equipment appraiser who attended Anoka-Ramsey’s Cambridge Campus. He is married to Susan and the couple has two children: Dan (14) and Mike (12). Carlson has served as a Cambridge Isanti District 911 school board member and on the original foundation board at the Cambridge Campus in 1990.
“Having served on the original Board of Directors, I wish to reaffirm my commitment to education and continue the heritage of the Cambridge Campus,” says Carlson of his new role.
Jack Juve, A North Branch resident, is owner and manager of the Americinn in North Branch. Juve holds a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from the University of South Dakota. He is married to Laura and the couple has three children: Emily (15), Rachel (13) and Isabella (9). Juve has held or currently holds numerous service roles including: president and secretary of North Branch Rotary Club; board member and past president of Minnesota Lodging Association; board member of Hospitality Minnesota; third degree Knights of Columbus; Lake State Federal Credit Union Community Involvement Foundation; president North Branch Area Chamber of Commerce; and commissioner Chisago County Economic Development Association.
“As a local business owner, I have always been a strong supporter of Anoka-Ramsey,” says Juve. “It will be an honor to help the foundation raise funds to allow more students to continue their education.”
DeeDee Kahring, a Cambridge resident, is vice president/client representative at Springsted Inc. in St. Paul. Kahring holds a bachelor of science degree in Finance from Mankato State University and a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Iowa. She is married to Robert and the couple has three children: Nate (25), Mitch (22) and Tessa (17). Kahring has held or currently holds numerous service roles including: secretary/treasurer at Minnco Credit Union; Communications Committee & Leadership Committee at Minnesota Association of School Business Officials; Registered School Business Administrator at Association of School Business Officials; Minnesota School Boards Association; Minnesota Association of School Administrators; Wisconsin Association of School Business Officials; and on the Cambridge Lutheran Church Council.
“I am excited about the opportunity to serve on the Cambridge Campus College Foundation Board to assist learners of all ages in their pursuit of higher education,” says Kahring of her new role.
