Learn about Minnesota Lakes at Cambridge Campus Science Night, Jan 23

December 27, 2011

Join Anoka-Ramsey Community College’s Science Department in welcoming Dr. Darby Nelson to the 24th annual Science Night, Monday, Jan. 23, 7 p.m., Cambridge Campus Rm. G202. The event is free and open to the public.

Nelson, a retired faculty Emeritus from Anoka-Ramsey Community College, will discuss his new book titled For Love of Lakes (Michigan State University Press, Jan. 2012).

In writing the book, Nelson says he was “deeply puzzled by the paradox that we Minnesotans love our lakes yet we not only allow but participate in their deterioration.” Nelson, who used storytelling methods to make the book accessible to all readers, hopes readers and attendees to Science Night will learn a lot about lakes, including information about history, conditions and stewardship.
